Sunshine shining in the morn,
You make me glad to wake at dawn;
When I might rather stay in bed,
You rise in radiance overhead.
You spread your warmth on all you see.
Sunshine, please shine down on me.
But you have left us for awhile.
Our heads feel heavy, weak, and tired.
Sunshine, please come back again.
We miss you so, dear friend.

for Melanie, our own little jar of sunshine

    I read this at work today, when I was taking a MUCH-needed break from charting…and I cried. Beautiful.

  2. hang in there woman…i am praying that this winter will be a speedy one and we’ll have that sunshine back before we know it!
