Warning Label

In stubbornness I’ll push you away
To see if you have the courage to stay.
Who will man up and answer the call
To pick me up after I fall?

I’ll pick some fights that make no sense
To see if you will give into my whims.
I’ll ask you for honesty even to pain
Even though by it nothing is gained.

I’ll lapse into silences moody like rain,
Because of the thunder let loose in my brain.
But I’ll want you to cheer me all the same,
Even though I’ll drive you insane.

I can’t always promise sweetness and light,
Although I’ll often admit that you’re right.
Who will man up and answer the call
And hold me up before I fall?
