Hope was sung and so was grace.
Tears were tracking down my face.
I fought the comfort offered there
And tried to hide inside my fear.
A simple gesture offered free was all it took that day.
One had noticed my distress,
And reached out hands with selflessness
My heart soaked in the charity.
I stumbled into clarity.
A simple gesture offered true was all it took that day.
Now its my turn to face sunlight
Although it’s often blinding bright;
It’s sometimes more than I can bear.
There’s love to give out there.
A simple gesture offered pure was all it took that day.
Fear not my heart, that tiny hill
That looms up like a mountain still.
Arm yourself, prepare to fight.
Do not give in to that dark night.
That simple gesture, offered then, sent me on my way.
